The Sino-American joint venture Huaneng Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, abbreviated as “Huaneng” , was established in 1992. Initiated by an American Chinese Professor Young Guo-Xian, this joint venture was established to manufacture oral cephalosporin products. The company passed the national GMP validation in April of 2004.

Chronicles of Huaneng：
　　May 1992 - The first production line started operation.
　　Aug 1992 - Our uncoated Cephalexin tablet obtained regulatory approval. And it remains the only uncoated type                              of Cephalexin tablet in China.
　　May 1994 - Our uncoated Cephalexin tablet was accredited as “National Recommended Pediatric Medicine
                             in 1994” by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and the Chinese Children Development
                             Center.
　　Sept 1998 - Huaneng was relocated to the present manufacturing site.
　　April 2000 - Huaneng obtained the GMP Certificate issued by the SFDA
　　Dec 2001 - Our uncoated Cephalexin tablet and fast-dissolving Cefadroxil tablet were approved by the State                              Development and Planning Commission (the predecessor of National Development and Reform                              Commission) as “Products with Higher Pricing Scale” because of their superior quality, efficacy                              and safety.
　　April 2003 - Huaneng was named as a “Model Corporation Adopting International Production Standards”by                              the Guangdong government. It was the only pharmaceutical manufacturer among the 50                              enterprises which obtained such distinction.
　　Sept 2003 - Huaneng was awarded for its excellence in product quality and corporate governance by Long                              March China Qualification.
　　Jan 2004 - Huaneng was designated as “The Model Enterprise in the Food Pharmaceutical Industry in                              Guangdong;”
 　　May 2004 - Huaneng was certified as a “High-Tech Enterprise” by the Department of Science and                               Technology of Guangdong Province.
 　　Jan 2005 - Huaneng was accredited as a “Knowledge and Technology Enterprise”by the Department of                              Science and Technology of Guangdong Province.
　　Jan 2006 - Our fast-dissolving Cefadroxil tablet was named among “The Most Recognized Brand in                              Guangdong Province” by the Guangdong Administration for Industry and Commerce.
